Full-Time Contract Position, 1 Year
Community Living Parry Sound has worked with people with developmental disabilities and their families for 60 years. Our purpose is to support people with disabilities to build better lives in the community, and we envision a community where all people have the power and freedom to determine the life they want.
The successful candidate will provide case coordination, advocacy, and direct support as required for children and youth ages 3 – 21 and their families in a variety of settings. This will include building and maintaining positive working relationships with school boards and other children’s agencies in the community to support children, youth, and families.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum college diploma in Social Services, Human Services, Early Childhood Education, or related discipline
- A minimum of two years with a special needs population with progressive and related experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication (written and oral) skills with a professional and enthusiastic demeanour
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to meet the changing needs of people and their families
- Able to work effectively within intensive support relationships
- Work cooperatively with the other staff of Community Living to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to services and program delivery
- Valid Ontario G class driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for business use with a minimum $1,000,000 liability insurance coverage and OPCF6A or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in case coordination
- A background in cooperative communications would be an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using a variety of software programs
- Promote positive public education and public relations in keeping with the philosophy of Community Living
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C certification
- Valid Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
COMPENSATION + BENEFITS:
- Start Rate: Full-Time Contract – $29.17 per hour, as per our Collective Agreement
- Vacation: 2 weeks
- Paid sick time
Note that upon hire, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Police Records Check, which includes a Vulnerable Sector Check, and obtain both CPR/First Aid Level C and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certifications within three months of hire (if certifications are not currently valid).
Hours of work will include a variety of shifts, such as weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
