Residential Services
This service provides 24/7 support to adults with developmental disabilities living in a group home setting. Our team delivers support that promotes total autonomy and choice in one’s life, skillfully balancing the accommodation of people’s needs and respecting their independence. One of the more crucial aspects of direct support within this service is advocacy for the full inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all areas of community life. In other words, the support our team provides facilitates people’s connection to their community and the community’s readiness and willingness to connect.
Support can involve:
- Administering medication
- Meal preparation
- Personal care and hygiene
- Advocating for equitable support in the community
The eligibility criteria for Residential support are not determined by Community Living Parry Sound, but by Developmental Services Ontario (DSO), the access point for adult developmental services. To be eligible to receive Residential support (per the DSO), one must be:
- 18 years or older
- diagnosed with having a developmental disability
- connected with the DSO and have been approved to receive Housing Supports from a provider in your area
