Home Depot Parry Sound raises funds for Youth in Transition

foundation-logoHome Depot Parry Sound chose Community Living Parry Sound to be the non-profit organization to receive donations raised by their Orange Door fundraising Campaign.  Parry Sound customers generously donated almost double the funds that were raised during last year’s fundraising efforts! Thanks go out to the Parry Sound community for helping to support youth in our district.

On June 28th members of the Youth in transition program at Community Living worked at Home Depot alongside Home Depot staff.  Nathaniel and Matt had fun and Leigh reports that she got a “farmers tan” that day because it was so sunny out.  Leigh, a direct support professional at CLPS explains; “We were outside in the sun all day helping to run a basketball game that earned participants tickets to win a kayak or children’s basketball net. People could donate $2 to CLPS and get 3 shots on net to earn up to 3 tickets for the kayak draw. People were guaranteed a ticket when they donated $2. For all people who played, I handed out a copy of the CLPS newsletter so they could read up on what the agency does in the community. Matt and Nathaniel were great as was Home Depot who donated a case of water to keep us cool as well as had one of their enthusiastic employees outside all day promoting the event on the loud speaker.”
